More Charity Donations
Well it’s been a few weeks since I last gave an update on Westnet’s Charity Day donations, so I thought I’d compile the recent ones into the one post.
1/6/07 - Human Resources Department - Purple Bra Day
Funds raised from Purple Bra Day help provide practical, emotional and financial support to Western Australians affected by breast cancer.
The Human Resources Department raised $351.90 for the cause.
8/6/07 - Software Development - Volunteer Bush Fire Brigades
The Software Development team raised $306.80 for the various Volunteer Bush Fire Brigades that were rattling their tins on the streets of Perth on Friday the 8th of June.
15/6/07 - Customer Relations - Youth Focus
Youth Focus is a West Australian, non-profit community based organisation working with young people who are showing early signs associated with suicide, depression and self-harm. Youth Focus can also provide services to their families. Youth Focus values young lives by ensuring the emotional well-being of young people, developing their self worth and offering them the opportunity to reach their full potential.
The customer relations team raised $367.55 for Youth Focus.
22/6/07 - Tier 1 Technical Support - Brendan Keilar’s Trust Fund
Victorian Premier Steve Bracks has invited the public to contribute to the trust fund for Mr Keilar’s family.
“The tragedy of this event is that it’s left three young children without a father because of the heroic efforts he took to help someone else in need, and to support someone else who needed support and assistance,” he said.
$413.20 was raised today to help this family.
